Teachers Vanessa Bell
As a teacher, my goal is not to "wow" my students – it is to teach them how to "wow" themselves. To take them to places where they are faced with what is holding them back so that they can acknowledge it and let it go. This can be anywhere from healing an injury that has been nagging for too long to letting go of a deep-seeded fear or negative emotion. I do this through educating and challenging my students and creating a space where they feel safe to make mistakes, grow and be themselves. I began studying yoga in 1998. My teaching studies began in 2004 with
Maureen Rae, studying Vinyasa Flow, based on the teachings of Erich Schiffmann
and the Desikachars of India. In 2007, I completed the Advanced Teacher
Training Program with The Yoga Sanctuary and am taking their Pre-Natal
Teacher Training in July 2008. I have also studied Anatomy Trains theory
with Thomas Myers and various forms of martial arts, voice work and dance.
I am currently working on a project called "Artistic Freedom",
which I would like to bring to various studios and schools, specializing
in the mastery and enjoyment of expression through dance, song, martial
arts and, of course, yoga. |
