The aim of this course is to lead the participants on a profound journey of internal investigation and external perception. Both as teachers and students, we will detect and change, personal energetic blockages and learn to integrate them through various techniques. The course is open to participants and teachers of any yogic style

Students will learn how to observe the subtle body through the practice of pranayama, chanting, asana and mudras. Chakras are the seven points of spiritual power, "wheels" of energy situated along the spine.

Together we will delve into the sacred elements of the chakra system and study the embodiment of the mudras, yogic hand postures, associated with each chakra. Mudra practice enhances the subtle body as numerous nerve endings in the tips of the fingers influence the entire nervous system.

Refine your awareness and gain new tools for your practice!

Janine WooJanine, a graduate of Ryerson Polytechnical Institute (now Ryerson University) in Computer Science, has been practicing Hatha yoga since 1990. Janine discovered Ashtanga yoga in 1996 and it was "love" with her first class!

Janine's love for yoga has led her to travel to study with many gifted teachers. She has studied with Eddie Modestini and Nicki Doane, David Williams, Nancy Gilgoff and Lucy Martorella in Hawaii and Sri Pattabhi Jois in Australia and David Swenson in Costa Rica. At home she has attended many workshops, including Ramanand Patel, Laura Allard, Richard Freeman, Judith Lasater, to name a few.

Janine's formal education in yoga started with Allison Ulan currently of Ashtanga Yoga Montreal, where she received an advanced teacher training. Continuing her studies she has studied with Ron Reid, Riki Richter and most recently she has been studying Anusara Yoga, created by John Friend. She also completed a Pre-Natal Teacher Training with Christine Reeves. Janine’s alignment was influenced by Eddie Modestini at Maya Yoga on Maui & Hart Lazar’s workshops at the Yoga Sanctuary. Janine is committed to expanding her experience & knowledge of Anatomy & Yoga and continues to takes workshops every year. She also brings Laura Allard of Boulder, CO to Canada every year for Anatomy Studies.

Janine brings to her classes a commitment and love of the practice. She knows yoga is the path of greater awareness. She leads class with compassion but challenges her students. Janine also believes practice leads to theory, but without practice, theory is academic. So please join Janine in class and practice for greater consciousness.
