RECIPES - NEWS FROM THE YOGA SANCTUARY Well I thought I would change it up this month. This recipe is for people who really need some warm food from time to time. Steamed Almond Kale Savoury 1 bunch kale 1/4 cup parsley or cilantro (your preference & optional) 2 tbsp almond butter 1 tbsp olive oil 1 tbsp nama shoyu or wheat free tamari 1 small lemon juiced 1 small clove of garlic 1. Start by cleaning your kale and removing stems. In a blender or small processor mix remaining ingredients. 2. Steam kale for just a minute or so once water is ready. Be careful not to over steam because kale over cooks quickly and you want to keep the enzymes alive and well. 3. Pour mixture over steamed kale. You can use this same recipe over raw spinach if you are not in need of warmed food and it is just as yummy. If you have some chopped almonds kicking around then feel free to add a small handful to the equation. 4. For those of you that are playing with a high fruit diet be aware that this is a high fat meal and that you need to be careful to not have to many meals like this back to back or it can affect your body's ability to assimilate sugar from the fruit but that is another story. 5. This recipe is a great transition recipe for someone who is just getting their Raw Food feet wet. If you have a sensitivity to wheat then you need to go with a wheat free tamari. Enjoy. Orlando
