Recipes from Orlando's Super Food Kitchen ~ July 2010 Recipe

Raw Chocolate Cinnamon Brownies

3 cups raw organic walnuts
1/4 cup chopped organic walnuts to sprinkle on top
16 raw organic soft medjool dates, pitted
4 heaping tablespoons raw cacao powder
1 teaspoon carob
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
dash sea salt
dash water as needed or coconut water
Chopped walnuts for topping

1. Place all ingredients into food processor.
2. Blend. Add only enough water to make a dry doughy consistency.
3. Add more dates, cacao powder, vanilla and salt as needed for flavour.
4. Spoon out into brownie pan and spread mixture until about 1/2"-3/4"thick. Sprinkle walnuts on top and press into dough.
5. Place in freezer until set, maybe 30 minutes. Cut into 1"x1" pieces and arrange on plate.
