Yin
Yoga Teacher Training
by Cathy Keenan
I've
been putting my heart and soul into preparing
a Yin Yoga Teacher Training that starts
April 9, 2010. This is a practice intended
to compliment a more active lifestyle. Its
focus is on deep, long held stretches aimed
at opening the hips and low back and thus
stimulating the connective tissue in our
joints. These are the areas of the body,
it is believed, that store our deeper blockages
and through gently opening and stimulating
these tissues, we bring them more life (Qi).
It
is a practice that can be deep and intense
where the postures are held for several
minutes. As time unfolds we courageously
learn to explore and befriend all those
places we've been neglecting for so long.
We are cultivating new and healthy relationships
with ourselves and our bodies.
The
focus of this course is to understand Yin
Yang theory, understand our anatomy more
intimately, explore the meridians and chakras
and how to improve the overall health of
our organs. You will learn to develop a
language for teaching this practice to your
students or simply how to get deeper into
your body. We will learn the philosophy
and psychology behind Yin Yoga, explore
the postures and dive deep into our creative
abyss. It's like poetry for the body.
With
great respect,
Cathy
