BACKBENDING INTO BLISS & OBSERVING THE SUBTLE BODY
Co-taught by Cynthia Funk, Karusia Wroblewski and Janine Woo
Saturday, April 24 & Sunday, April 25
10 Hours ~ $225.00

Using Natarajasana as a template let’s dive into the ecstasy of back bending. Nataraja is the Divine Dancer who rides the waves of cosmic energy. During this weekend we will analyze the elements of backbends from a number of perspectives.

We will look at anatomy and preparatory poses that stretch, strengthen, awaken and balance the core and the limbs helping those with back issues. We will use our understanding of the chakras and five elements in order to explore and align the psycho-emotional components of these postures.
As well we will incorporate aspects of Shakti Yoga dance flows to awaken the inner juiciness that will make our backbends shine.

ARM AND HAND BALANCING
& TAP INTO THE GAP

Co-taught by Cynthia Funk, Karen Cove and Deborah Whipple
Saturday, May 1 & Sunday, May 2
10 Hours ~ $225.00

This module will focus on both self-practice and the art of refining communication on how to teach the more advanced and challenging arm and hand balances. Tuning into the anatomical details of the shoulder girdle, arms, wrists and hands. Together we will learn to balance the weight of our bodies on our hands, while learning techniques for doing this safely. We will encourage our students to feel just as confident while standing on their hands as on their two feet. We will fly upside down to the sky!

Meet every new moment on the mat! Focusing on authentic expression and creative movement, we will learn how to feel and be yoga, rather than "do" yoga. We will learn to let the practice evolve out of a deeper sense of embodied consciousness as old ideas dissolve making room for the ancient bliss of freedom yoga to move us in an ever evolving and fresh experience.

Let's explore our habituated ideas and fine tune our awareness as we tap into the gap between what is and what should be - between the program and the potential.

Who is the Eastre Rabbit?
by Cora Wen

Did you ever wonder why rabbits and eggs are symbols of Easter? Before Passover and Easter, many ancient cultures celebrated the Rite of Spring… Before Christianity, Easter, Eastre, Eostre was goddess of dawn, spring and fertility.

No, it’s not a typo: Eastre is a Goddess and she loved rabbits. Did you ever wonder why we associate rabbits and eggs with Easter? It goes back to a Beautiful, Bountiful Pagan Goddess…

This time of year is Passover and Easter, and many ancient cultures have celebrated the Rites of Spring…

Our Mother and Father
Earth is referred to as Mother since ancient times: “Mother Earth” and “Mother Nature.” Watching the cycles of Nature one sees that rain falling brings life to Earth, so ancient cultures saw Father as Heaven, and Earth as Mother.
