David Newman
Inner Fire Yoga Workshop & Kirtan
Friday, July 24 @ College ~ 6:30 to 10:00pm

David and MiraDavid is an exceptional teacher, with a permeating sense of peace and love. David has developed a system of yoga called Inner Fire Yoga that uses asana, breath, sound and silence as support for spiritual growth and awakening. These experiences help to achieve deep release through an approach which tends to the body in a prayerful manner leading the student beyond the mind into the heart.

An Inner Fire Yoga workshop combines breathing, mantras, chakra meditation, chanting and asanas, while deepening the inner resolve of purification and joyful expression. This system has been taught to teachers and students over the past ten years and continues to inspire the lives of many. David's Inner Fire Yoga is a sacred journey that guides the body into bliss, opens the heart to love and leads the mind into peace.

Join us for an ecstatic evening of call and response chanting and devotional music with Celebrated Kirtan Chant Artist David Newman also known as Durga Das. David’s distinctive approach to Kirtan embodies a heartfelt devotional mysticism with an adventurous musicality and poetic intimacy. His Kirtans are a joyous and spiritually uplifting journey into bliss! David will be joined by his wife Mira, a gifted vocalist and percussionist.

Rocket Yoga Teacher Training
with Larry Schultz

Mon, August 24 to Fri, August 28 @ Danforth

Larry SchultzLarry has taught over nine thousand classes and has influenced hundreds of teachers across the globe. His teachings have reached crowds as diverse as the Grateful Dead of the Rock 'n' Roll world, the computer geniuses of Silicon Valley, the 49ers, financiers, scientists, artists, students, and entertainers. He has facilitated the opening of twelve studios and is expanding internationally.

Larry Schultz created the Rocket routine, a series of postures based on a modification of the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga primary and intermediate series, to renew energy and vitality in the body. This vibrant routine is called the "Rocket" because, "it gets you there faster." The Rocket is designed to wake up the nervous system and feed it the precious prana it craves while promoting a spirit of change and freedom in the practice.

Every rocket sequence is made up of 4 parts. Starting with traditional ashtanga suryanamskaras, the sequence moves onto an original standing sequence, full of standard standing poses as well as arm balances to build strength and protect joints. On the floor, yogis will recognize the sequence as being a modification of the seated primary series. The series finishes off with the traditional ashtanga finishing series.

Yoga "OM" Work

The purpose of Yoga "Om" Work is to add some interesting little awareness into our practice all month long!

Give yourself some extra time to brush your teeth this month! I find I am a little happier in Toronto in the heat of the summer sun. Why not take this happiness into your non-dominant hand while brushing your teeth! Remember the old adage, every master was once a disaster!!!!

"Reduce your workload by 30% and increase your fun load by 30% and you will increase your revenues by 100%. And you will increase your productivity by 10,000%. (If there could be such a percentage.) More fun, less struggle -- more results on all fronts.
~ Abraham - Hicks

Thought for the Day:

Today's full moon is also a penumbral lunar eclipse, which will be so minor as to be completely invisible to the naked eye. It will, nonetheless, pack a powerful punch. Full moons always magnify the impact of whatever is taking place.
