Time For A Change

Janet IrvineGoodbyes are always difficult, which is why I choose not to say it, in this case. I have been lucky enough to be the Manager of the College Street Yoga Sanctuary for almost 4 years now. I feel blessed with the experiences I have had, the things I have learned, and mostly for having met all of the wonderful people that I have met as colleagues and students.

But things change and one has to learn when it's time to move on to new experiences. I'm in the midst of a huge transition that I hope will be a pathway to new future happiness. I have resigned as the Manager in order to teach yoga full-time, as opposed to the part-time I have been doing for the past few years. It's a scary but exciting time and I have nothing but love and appreciation for those who have supported me and continue to do so as I move forward. Goodbyes aren't necessary as I will still be seen around the studio quite regularly. I'm not going anywhere, just changing my role.

I wish the best of luck to your new studio Manager, Elia Piltzmaker, who will offer her own past experiences and yoga-insights to the job. "A change is as good as a rest", said my grandmother. Here's to us all being well-rested. See you soon.

Free Yin Yoga Class
with Cathy Keenan
Sun Sept 16 at 5-6:15pm @Danforth

Cathy KeenanI'd like to offer a FREE Yin Yoga class to let people experience the practice, so they know what to expect in my course.

Anytime I have taught this style, I always get my students coming up to me at the end telling me they were able to do a pose they could never do before, because we held the poses for so long.

Yin Yoga is a slow, deep practice that increases your flexibility by stretching and stimulating the connective tissue of the hips and spine rather than the muscles. This is a deeply relaxing and rejuvenating form of yoga where the poses are held longer.

Yin Yoga is a great compliment to the more active ‘Yang’ (Vinyasa) styles of yoga and is beneficial for any level of student. This quiet and contemplative yoga helps prepares the student for deeper meditation practice.

I really believe in this practice and I think everyone would really benefit from this practice. Check out my pre-registered course for Yin Yoga Oct 21st to Nov 4th at Danforth!

~ Namaste,
Cathy
