Anusara
yoga is a style of Hatha yoga that combines an uplifting Tantric
philosophy with elegant and powerful biomechanical principles
of alignment. In the Tantric philosophy the world is danced
into existence out of the Supreme’s delight. I try to
re-create this same delight every time I get on my mat. I see
my practice as a way of co-creating with Consciousness to create
beauty; each pose is an offering to the universal spirit of
my soul.
Teaching
Anusara-Inspired yoga is a great honour for me. I have completed
Todd Norian’s Anusara Teacher Training, and over 550 hours
of Teacher Training, Philosophy, Therapeutics, and workshops
with John Friend. My intention is to help my students experience
the delight of embracing life fully and empower them to experience
their own highest nature.
As
for my personal life, I am a professional flutist, mother of
two beautiful daughters and wife of a wild Masked Man from New
Orleans. I started playing the flute as a teenager and enjoyed
a wonderful career as a flutist and teacher. I spent several
years practicing Tae Kwon Do but after breaking my nose twice
and being knocked out, I decided I needed to find something
gentler. I was thirty-nine when I was attracted to the power
of Ashtanga yoga and spent seven happy, challenging years setting
the foundation of my practice and completed a two-year yoga
teacher training. Painful knee injuries led me on a yoga voyage
of discovery. I realized that what was missing from my yoga
practice was a conscious spiritual practice.
One day
in desperation I asked the Universe to send me a teacher of
the heart for my yoga practice. I knew intuitively that opening
my heart would heal my knees. The Universe answered loud and
clear and I found Anusara yoga, founded by my teacher John Friend.
Life
is humbling and still challenges me to grow in ways I never
thought possible. Anusara yoga has given me a way to embrace
all of myself, my strengths and gifts, and my limitations and
imperfections. On my mat I experience the joy of being in my
body and the ecstasy of connecting all parts of myself to my
highest intention.
Life
is a dance so I trip over my feet, and sometimes I forget the
steps, but the music is so compelling, my soul yearns to dance,
so I get on the floor and boogie-woogie.

Musings on Water
I
love to research! Drinking water, filtration systems, food and
nutrition - there are so many products out on the market and
everyone wants you to buy their product. Their stats only support
what they want you to believe, so you will buy, buy, buy! I
found these sites to be scientific and neutral with their approach.
I hope you enjoy the info as much as I do! The following links
were very impressive to me. Happy surfing!
