The
Elephant Nature Park is a sanctuary for abused and rescued elephants.
Here, 30 elephants ranging from land mine victims, to car accident
victims (from street begging in Bangkok), to those beaten to
near death, have the chance to live out the rest of their lives
in a dignified and safe environment.
Elephants
have a very unique and special relationship with us with an
intelligence, sense of humour and adaptive nature which is not
shared by other wild animals. Elephants are the 4th most intelligent
mammals, (humans, chimps, dolphins, elephants). They have a
devoted and committed relationship with their families and their
children just like humans.
One
hundred years ago there were 300,000 Asian elephants and now
there are only 4,500 left. Can't make it? Please go to Elephant
Nature Park or Elephants
Umbrella Fund and donate for food, medical needs and tender
care. You can make a difference, one elephant at a time. For
concert info and tickets contact Laura at 416 924-8180 or Spa-la-la.
An
Elephant Never Forgets, So Please Remember to Come to This Event!

Sanskrit,
Chanting & The Bhagavad Gita
20 Hour Module at Danforth Studio, Taught
by Hali Schwartz
Fri, May
4: 6:00-10:00pm ~ Sat, May 5: 3:15-10:15pm
Fri, May 11 : 6:00-10:00pm ~ Sat, May 12: 3:15-10:15pm
In this 20 hour course we will delve into the Sanskrit alphabet
to learn its sacred sounds. The Sanskrit language has been
called 'the language of the Gods' by the great saints and
sages of the Indian subcontinent, and is the very cornerstone
of our yoga heritage as we know it today. We will explore
the sacred text, The Bhagavad Gita, and while learning its
elegant and powerful message we will have a chance to practice
chanting in the original Sanskrit!
