June 22 Earlybird Special ~ $240 + gst before May 10th The Positive Force Yoga Alignment System course is excellent for all levels of yoga practitioners, interested in alignment based yoga. Beginners as well as existing yoga students will easily and effectively understand the underlying patterns within yoga poses, while yoga teachers will find exciting ways of presenting yoga alignment. Is this a new system of yoga? No. We are not trying to create our own "brand"of yoga. Instead through years of practice and insight, we have discovered and honed a methodology for making alignment-based yoga simple, safe, fun and therapeutic. FOUNDATION & PRINCIPLES: DEEP &
PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE Introduction to this unique approach to Yoga Alignment. Learn how to use basic reference places on the body and discover how to align them relative to each other. Once you understand these patterns, they will be repeated over and over throughout the yoga practice. We will experiment with 2 Fundamental Torso Positions: The Tree Hugger Torso and the Evenly Toned Bow. We will discover through "experiential anatomy" reference places of the pelvis, spine, skull and shoulder blades and learn how to feel both the physical alignment as well as energetic openings via this focus on alignment in our bodies. THE IMPORTANCE OF ARCHES The arches are the best tools we have to resist the downward force of gravity in the most efficient way possible. In this workshop, we will learn how to use our arches effectively, understand how they provide the foundation for upward lift and experience lightness and effortlessness in our yoga asanas. The 3 Fundamental Arches we will explore are: The Sole arch (Bottom of the Foot), The Palm Arch (Palm of the hand) and the Dorsal Arch (Top of the foot). CONNECTING FROM YOUR CORE FOR A SAFE
& STRONG YOGA PRACTICE In this session, we will explore the basic anatomical movements of the joints of the arms of shoulders and determine how to align them safely so they last for the longest time possible. We will also look at how the arches of the hands and feet control the lines of force that are generated through the body. This work combines the knowledge of Tom Myers’ Anatomy Trains, Vijnana Yogi Gioia Irwin and Donna Holleman along with Eoin’s unique insights. THE AHA MOMENTS In this workshop, we put it all together. Here is where the fireworks really explode and we can put all the knowledge we have learned into practice. You will be thrilled with the way the elements we have studied revolutionize your yoga practice. This session also includes a Blissology Discussion: What does it mean to be a Positive Force in our universe. EOIN FINN BIO Eoin Finn has been a disciple of Yoga, Eastern and Western philosophy, martial arts and meditation since 1987 and has been teaching Yoga for over a decade. First introduced to Yoga while at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Finn discovered the benefits of yoga as a great warm up to extreme sports such as mountain biking, surfing and windsurfing. From there, Finn’s travels to France, Hawaii and Japan developed his yoga practice, eventually leading to his committment to teaching, sharing and promoting yoga, health and bliss.
