PRE-NATAL YOGA

Come and share the experience of pregnancy with others going
through the same. Enjoy a yoga class specifically geared to your needs
at this special time, with stretching and strengthening, breathing techniques
and relaxation.
Yoga is especially helpful during birth and learning to
breath, relax and trust your body's wisdom is key to Pre-Natal Yoga. Mandi,
herself, is a first-time mom to a beautiful one year old girl!
Recommended for the second and third trimester of pregnancy.
I
was first introduced to Yoga through acting and movement classes at York
University and The School of Physical Theatre. After acting professionally
for 7 years, with a focus on Physical Theatre, I realized that movement
is essential in keeping my mind/body happy and healthy. From there I delved
into Yoga more seriously and discovered the spiritual side of Yoga. I
decided that this beautiful practice had to be part of my life in a bigger
way.
In 2004 I graduated from The Yoga Sanctuary's Yoga Teacher Training and
Prenatal Teacher Training. Teaching yoga became my new direction and passion
in life and it has been such a blessing. I am so excited to continue learning
about Yoga and sharing what I learn with others.
Then in 2006 I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Having practised and
taught yoga all through my pregnancy I know first-hand of Yoga's ability
to empower, strengthen, relax and prepare a woman for the beauty and challenges
that come with pregnancy and birth/labour.
During my Prenatal classes I use strengthening postures to strengthen
the mind and body during pregnancy and labour. I use breathing and relaxing
postures to help during the many different discomforts that can come during
pregnancy. And I use meditation to help the woman connect with her baby
and enjoy this magical time in both her and her baby's life.
