COLLEGE PRE-REGISTERED COURSE Core Yoga
Flow Mondays ~ 6 Weeks Rediscover your core! Core strength and stability are very important components of yoga. The Core generally refers to the abdominal muscle group, but also requires gluteus medius (sides of your hips) and lumbar muscles, as well as the postural muscles of the back. With this workshop you will learn to build core muscle strength to protect your back from injury and improve your posture. We will begin each session by warming and activating the core with pranayama, move into gentle stretches of the core muscles and then move into deeper work with the asana. Core work should be about making deeper muscle stronger, not outer muscles harder. Learn to incorporate a strong core into your practice!
About Jair Moreno
After several years of experimenting with different yoga methods I felt I was ready to take the next step. This realization led me to the Yoga Sanctuary Teacher Training Program. I felt that by becoming a certified yoga instructor I could not only improve my practice, but also help others in their journey to unite mind, body and soul. The Yoga Sanctuary Teacher Training was the program that I completed in April 2007, learning not only from my instructors, but also from my classmates and myself. Yoga is within yourself, everything and everyone around you will help in this journey of realizing who you really are. In class I will seek to cultivate strength of mind and body, as well as risk-taking, determination, flexibility and peace of mind.
