real people, real issues, real yoga

Yogi of Paradise

Thursday evening, classes were canceled for a special book launch of ‘Stories From the Yogic Heart,’ an anthology of stories written by such renown practitioners as Sting, Russell Simmons, and Mariel Hemingway. All of the book’s 27 contributors credit yoga for changing their lives, with the book edited and compiled by Lisa Miriam Cherry.

Also in attendance was Danny Paradise, who taught a special shortened class (he claims he typically teaches 3-4 hour sessions) involving some modified Ashtanga poses. Talking about the spread of yoga from India to California and Hawaii, Paradise had some interesting insight about Woodstock, Egyptians practicing yoga, and other threads.

Neal Arbic also performed, playing guitar and singing.
