Our Beautiful Yoga Studios
The Yoga Sanctuary on College
Street at Yonge was voted the most beautiful yoga studio
in Toronto by Toronto Life Magazine. Located in The Odd Fellows
Hall, built in 1891, this yoga studio is in the centre of
downtown Toronto and has one of the city's oldest operating
elevators. This former ballroom, with hardwood floors, is
full of natural light and is a peaceful and elegant studio.
On the artistic side, Canada's internationally renowned Group
of Seven used this space as their painting studio.
"If you've never been
to the Yoga Sanctuary on College, brace yourself. It's a beautiful
space with high ceilings, large windows, and an all-encompassing
mystic charm. It kind of looks like the Hogwarts of yoga studios."
~ Aastha Lal
The Yoga Sanctuary at 95
Danforth Avenue at Broadview, is close to the Broadview
subway stop. This is also an historic building that was built
in 1856. The Yoga Sanctuary has studios on both the 3rd and
4th floors of the building. Both studios boast unique curved
walls. Our 3rd floor, Studio One has beautiful floor to ceiling
windows and a multi-coloured exposed brick wall. Our 4th floor,
Studio Two, offers heated classes with the temperature maintained
at 80-85 degrees. Studio Two also has many windows, a small
kitchenette and shower facilities.
Liberace performed at concerts across the hall
and this location became the place to dance to big name bands
like Guy Lombardo, in the 1930's.
The Yoga
Sanctuary Richmond Hill is a warm and intimate studio
located at Bathurst and Elgin Mills. Richmond Hill is one
of the fastest growing suburb in the GTA only 20 minutes north
from Toronto. It is a beautiful space with high ceilings -
a lovely mix of industrial chic and yogic charm. This sun
drenched studio, with floor to ceiling windows, has hardwood
floors and two walls with ropes for deepening your practice.

Our Heated Studio
Enjoy practicing assorted styles of yoga with the heat between
80°F (27°C) to 85°F (29°C). We like to think
of it as enjoying yoga on a warm summer day, all year round!
The modest heat encourages a relaxation
of muscles enabling practitioners to lengthen and strengthen. The
detoxifying benefits of your practice will be enhanced with
the warmth of the room. You will sweat, so please remember
to bring water. And take an invigorating shower after class
and re-emerge back into your day refreshed and rejuvenated.
Yoga is An Ancient Practice
Yoga is more than just a form of exercise, but part of a
well-rounded philosophy that dates back over 5,000 years.
Our goal is to reach, teach and inspire our students to live
a healthy, integrated life. Please see our Yoga
& Beauty Tips for information about how to look and
feel beautiful, inside and out! And The Yoga Sanctuary’s
large roster of experienced and enthusiastic teachers are
eager to share the study and love of this ancient practice,
for body, mind and spirit, with their students.
"The Yoga Sanctuary
helps me stay grounded. Practicing yoga in this beautiful
space is a welcome respite from an often hectic day. I have
been practicing with Cynthia Funk since 1997 and my yoga journey
has been deeply enriched as a result. The Yoga Sanctuary community
offers a path to wellness and santosha (contentment). I often
walk out of a class having learned something about myself,
something about my yoga practice and something that applies
to life in general. In many cases these things are simple
movements, habits or patterns that have vast benefits if practiced
with awareness and intention."
~ Lynn Chambers, Toronto
Our motto is to provide a
safe haven for inward journeys so you may attain emotional,
physical, mental and spiritual balance.
